Rexford is a town in Lincoln County, Montana, United States. The population was 78 at the 2020 census. The town began with the construction of the Great Northern Railway’s branch line from Jennings to Fernie, British Columbia in 1901. Rexford incorporated in 1966 in order to negotiate with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers during construction of the Libby Dam. == Geography == According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 0.10 square miles (0.26 km2), all land. Rexford was originally located on the Kootenai River, but with the damming of the river in the 1970s the original townsite was flooded and the town was moved to its current location approximately 10 miles west of Eureka on Montana Highway 37. It is on the shore of Lake Koocanusa. === Climate === This climatic region is typified by large seasonal temperature differences, with warm to hot (and often humid) summers and cold (sometimes severely cold) winters. According to the Köppen Climate Classification system, Rexford has a humid continental climate, abbreviated "Dfb" on climate maps. == Demographics == === 2010 census === As of the census of 2010, there were 105 people, 50 households, and 31 families living in the town.
