Spring Hope is a town in Nash County, North Carolina, United States. It is part of the Rocky Mount, North Carolina Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 1,320 at the 2010 census. == History == The Dr. Hassell Brantley House, Spring Hope Historic District, and Valentine-Wilder House are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. == Geography == According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 1.4 square miles (3.6 km2), all land. == Demographics == As of the census of 2000, there were 1,261 people, 544 households, and 338 families residing in the town. The population density was 902.3 inhabitants per square mile (348.4/km2). There were 595 housing units at an average density of 425.7 per square mile (164.4/km2). The racial makeup of the town was 50.75% White, 42.82% African American, 0.63% Native American, 0.16% Asian, 5.39% from other races, and 0.24% from two or more races.
