It is part of the Natchitoches Micropolitan Statistical Area. == Geography == Provencal is near Isle Brevelle and El Camino Real de los Tejas National Historic Trail located at 31°39′15″N 93°12′4″W (31.654131, -93.200984). According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 2.5 square miles (6.4 km2), all land. == Demographics == === 2020 census === As of the 2020 United States census, there were 528 people, 167 households, and 67 families residing in the village. === 2000 census === As of the census of 2000, there were 708 people, 273 households, and 200 families residing in the village. The population density was 287.4 inhabitants per square mile (111.0/km2). There were 308 housing units at an average density of 125.0 per square mile (48.3/km2). The racial makeup of the village was 97.60% White, 0.42% African American, 1.13% Native American, 0.28% from other races, and 0.56% from two or more races.
